K. M. Steele (Kate) writes contemporary mystery and crime, often with a dash of the gothic. Her stories are predominantly set in Australia, and tap into both the whacky sense of humour and darker undercurrents in Australian life. She writes across a range of genres and isn’t afraid to mix it up to create engaging and unique Australian narratives.
Kate teaches Creative Writing and English Literature at Southern Cross University. In her past lives, she has worked in marketing and administration, owned a farm, managed a stable of horses for a riding centre, and owned and managed a café in Brisbane. Kate has also travelled extensively, and spent six years living in Scotland.
